Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

WGtR: User's Group HomeThis is a featured page

Picture of Shelley holding up a copy of the WGtR textbook. This wiki, along with a variety of other sites listed below, is the attempt at a strategized (did I just make up a word? I love being an English teacher!) social networking campaign. I am specifically using free web-based technologies to partially demo what instructors can do without paying for stuff (as long as everyone is willing to ignore the advertisements). The plan (for now)...
  • Tips & Tricks for Teacher's Blog: A place for Susan and I, as well as invited WGtR power-user guests, to provide detailed entries about what/how/why they use the book.
  • User's Group Wiki: Since it's a wiki, I'm hoping faculty, and maybe students, will share what/how/why they are using the book.
  • "GuideToResearch" Twitter Account: provide announcements as well as links to alternative search engines and quotes about research, rhetoric, and/or writing.
  • WGtR Fan Page: I'm hoping we'll get both faculty and students as fans. Hopefully this can become a partial review site. I also plan to regularly post links for online research, rhetoric, and writing resources as well as favorite YouTube videos that provide various writing and software tips.
Keep an eye out for how we'll incorporate our Diigo account into this stuff; and I love some other tools I'll probably try to work in (esp. Utterli).

Teachers, I know the advertisements are kind of irritating; however, if you use Wetpaint for your classes, you can get ad free sites!
